Getting Inspired by the Flash
Alright, so I kept seeing stuff about Stefon Diggs and all that crazy bling he wears. You know, the chains, the watches, everything looking super expensive and shiny. Caught my eye, for sure. Not gonna lie, part of me was like, “Damn, must be nice.” But mostly, it got me thinking differently.

It wasn’t really about wanting his stuff. I mean, come on, that’s a whole different level. But it was about the boldness, you know? Just rocking something loud and proud. That kinda stuck with me. I looked around my own little world, my workshop specifically. It was… functional, let’s say. Bit drab. Tools kinda everywhere, lighting was meh.
Time for a Change Up
So, I figured, why not try and ‘bling out’ my own space? Not with diamonds, obviously. But give it some personality, some shine. Make it a place that felt cool to walk into, not just a place I stored my wrenches.
- First thing, I tackled the clutter. Spent a whole Saturday just tossing out old busted parts, random screws I’d never use, cracked plastic bins. Cleared out two big trash cans worth of junk. Felt good, like a fresh start.
- Then, the walls. They were just plain old boring drywall. Found some leftover paint, a kinda deep blue, from another project. Slapped a coat on the main wall where my workbench is. Instantly made a difference.
- Lighting was next. The single overhead bulb wasn’t cutting it. Went down to the hardware store, picked up a couple of those cheap LED strip lights. The kind you just peel and stick. Ran one under the main shelf above the bench and another along the back edge. Flipped ’em on. Boom. Looked way more modern, and I could actually see what I was doing.
- Finally, organizing the tools. Always meant to do it properly. Got myself a big pegboard. Laid out all the main tools I use – hammers, screwdrivers, pliers, the lot. Traced their outlines and hung ’em up. Took ages, but man, finding stuff now is so much easier.
The Result? My Own Kind of Bling
So yeah, no gold chains hanging off the drill press. But walking into the workshop now feels totally different. It’s clean, it’s organized, the lighting makes it pop, and that blue wall just looks sharp. It’s my version of blinged out, I guess. It feels intentional, looked after. Funny how seeing some football player’s ice pushed me to finally sort out my own little corner of the world. It’s less about the cash value, more about putting in the effort to make something look and feel good. Made the whole space way better to work in, too.
