Alright, so you wanna know what happened to Harry Higgs’ face, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, the poor fella had a bit of a scare with that skin cancer thing. Yeah, that nasty stuff. Doctors had to go in and cut out the bad parts, you know? Thank goodness they got it all, but it did leave a mark, they say. His face ain’t quite the same as it used to be.
Now, I ain’t no doctor or nothin’, but from what I hear, they caught it early. That’s real important, they say. See, Harry, he’s a golfer, a pretty good one too. Plays on them fancy tours, the PGA and the Korn Ferry. Heard he even won a couple of times on that Korn Ferry thing. Good for him, I say. Hard workin’ fella, always out there swingin’ them clubs.
But this skin cancer, well, it don’t care if you’re a golfer or a farmer or what. It just shows up, like an unwelcome guest. Harry, he probably spent a lot of time out in the sun, playin’ golf and all. That sun, it can be tough on your skin, ya know? My old man, he worked in the fields his whole life, and his skin was all weathered and tough. But even he knew to wear a hat sometimes.
- Harry had skin cancer.
- Doctors removed the cancerous parts.
- His appearance changed a little bit.
Anyway, Harry, he’s a tough cookie. He ain’t lettin’ no skin cancer slow him down. He’s still out there playin’ golf, competin’ and all. I saw some pictures of him, and he’s got a bandage on his face sometimes. Gotta protect that skin while it heals, I guess. They say he finished 144th on somethin’ called the FedExCup Fall last year. Don’t rightly know what that is, but sounds important. Seems like he had to go back to that Korn Ferry tour to keep playin’.
Now, somethin’ a little different about Harry, he lives in Dallas, but he likes them Philadelphia Eagles, a football team. That’s kinda strange, seein’ as Dallas got their own team, the Cowboys. But Harry, he lived near Philly when he was a young’un, so I guess that’s where his loyalty lies. Just goes to show, you can take the boy out of the country, but you can’t take the country out of the boy, or somethin’ like that.
He’s won some golf tournaments, four of ’em they say. And he did real good in that PGA Championship a few years back, finished tied for fourth. That got him into the Masters Tournament, a real big deal in golf, I hear. So, yeah, Harry Higgs, he’s a fighter. He fought off that skin cancer, and he’s fightin’ to stay on top of his game. Good for him, I say. Life throws you curveballs, but you just gotta keep swingin’, just like Harry with them golf clubs.
So, next time you see Harry Higgs on TV, with that little mark on his face, remember what he went through. He’s a reminder that even tough guys gotta take care of themselves, gotta watch out for that sun and get checked out by a doctor every now and then. And hey, maybe he’ll win a few more golf tournaments along the way. I’ll be rootin’ for him, that’s for sure.
And another thing, wear your sunscreen! Don’t be foolish like those youngsters who think they’re invincible. The sun, it’ll get ya if you ain’t careful. I always tell my grandkids, “Slap on some sunscreen, ya hear? You don’t want to end up looking like a wrinkled prune before your time.” And they just roll their eyes, kids these days, they don’t listen. But I tell ya, they’ll learn. They’ll learn when they’re old and spotted like a leopard.
But Harry, he’s doing alright. He’s still playing golf, still smiling, still doing his thing. And that’s what matters. He didn’t let that skin cancer get him down. He fought back, and he’s still going strong. That’s the kind of spirit I admire. The kind that says, “I ain’t giving up, no matter what.” So, hats off to Harry Higgs, the golfer with the scar and the big heart. He’s a good egg, that one.
