Getting those Rickie Fowler Style Shades
So, I was watching some golf the other day, you know, just chilling on the couch. Saw Rickie Fowler playing. Guy’s got style, gotta admit. What really caught my eye though, were his sunglasses. Looked sharp. Made me think, my own sunglasses are pretty beat up, maybe it’s time for an upgrade.

Decided I wanted something with that kind of vibe. Not necessarily the exact same expensive ones he wears, probably couldn’t afford ’em anyway, but something similar. Sporty, maybe a bit flashy with the lens color, but still practical for being outside.
First thing I did was hop online, just browsing around. Typed in stuff like “sporty sunglasses”, “orange lens sunglasses”, that sort of thing. Saw a ton of options, way too many really. Hard to tell what they actually look like or how they’d fit just from pictures.
Realized I needed to actually try some on. Headed out to a couple of shops over the weekend.
- First place, big department store. Had a decent selection, but nothing quite hit the mark. Lots of standard black or brown frames.
- Next, tried a sporting goods store. Better luck there. Found a few pairs that had the right shape, more wraparound, good for keeping sun out from the sides.
- Tried on maybe, I don’t know, ten, fifteen pairs? Some felt too tight, some too loose. Some just looked plain weird on my face.
Talked to one of the guys working there. Described the Fowler look I was kinda going for. He pulled out a couple more options. One pair had these bright orange lenses, pretty close! The frame wasn’t identical, more of a matte black plastic than whatever Rickie wears, but it felt sturdy.
The price was decent too, not crazy expensive. Weighed it up for a bit. They felt comfortable, blocked the sun well when I stepped outside the store entrance for a second, and had that sporty look I was after.
So, yeah, I grabbed them. Been wearing them for a few days now when I’m driving or just out and about. They’re not the Rickie Fowler sunglasses, but they give off a similar feel. Pretty happy with how it turned out. Just took a bit of looking around and trying stuff on. Simple as that.
