Okay, so I’ve been getting a lot of questions about Patrick Mahomes rookie cards lately. Like, people keep asking “how much is a Patrick Mahomes rookie card worth?” It’s wild! I figured I’d dive into it and share what I found with you guys. This whole thing started when I was cleaning out my attic and found my old card collection. I totally forgot I even had these!
First, I started to check some of my old trading cards, and then I googled around to see what the fuss was all about. It turns out, Mahomes cards are a big deal right now. So I went to my collection and found it’s pretty hot stuff. Apparently, the value of these cards has been going through the roof, especially after he’s been doing so well in the NFL.
Then I did some research online to see what kind of cards are the most valuable. There’s this one card, the 2017 Panini National Treasures Patrick Mahomes RC Auto Patch #161 /99, that’s like the holy grail of Mahomes cards. I don’t have that one, sadly. But it got me curious about what I did have. It looks like back in March 2017, Panini released these National Treasures cards, and they quickly became super valuable.
After that, I looked up some recent sales data. You guys won’t believe this, but in the last month or so, about 94 of these cards have been sold. And the average price? $177.47! It’s crazy to think that these pieces of cardboard can be worth so much. It’s all because Mahomes was the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and then he went on to win a bunch of awards. His first season as a starter was just insane.
So, I checked out some of my cards against the ones being sold online. I made a list of what I have:
- A couple of basic rookie cards from 2017.
- One card with a piece of his jersey.
- And, get this, I even have a card with his autograph!
From what I saw, the ones with jersey patches and autographs are worth more than the basic ones. I mean, it makes sense, right? It’s like having a piece of history. After comparing mine to the ones sold recently, I figured out that my autographed card could be worth a decent chunk of change!
Finally, I decided to list a couple of my less valuable cards online to see what would happen. And guess what? They sold within a day! It was way faster than I expected. Now I’m thinking about selling the autographed one too. This whole experience has been pretty wild. It’s like finding buried treasure in your own attic!
