So, I got curious the other day about Jon Jones’ weight. Like, how much does that guy actually weigh? I mean, you see him fighting, and he’s obviously a big dude, but what’s the number?
I started my little investigation the way everyone does – I hit up the internet. At First, I just searched some general stuff, like “Jon Jones weight class” and such. I needed a starting point, you know?
Finding Some Basic Info
The first thing I found was that he’s been fighting in the Light Heavyweight and now in the Heavyweight division. Okay, that gave me some general boundaries. I found the range of weightclass.
- Light Heavyweight: 205 pounds
- Heavyweight: 206-265 pounds.
But, those are some big ranges! He could be all over. I wanted specifics. I needed something more current.
Then I dig a bit deeper.I found that he’s now mostly up in Heavyweight, and he put on some serious muscle to get there.
I kept looking, and I finally found what I’m looking for!. Some reports I found, talking about his recent fights, put him around 248 pounds, even reaching 255 pounds in the cage sometimes! Now, that’s Heavyweight.
So, there you have it – that’s my little journey to figure out how much Jon Jones weighs. It wasn’t rocket science, it did take a few steps to get the actual, current number. It seems he has been really put his effort in training to walk around at that weight!
