Alright, so, let’s talk about this Hadley Wilson kid and them Shriners folks. I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, but I’ll tell ya what I know, the way I know how to tell it.
Hadley Wilson, that’s one tough little cookie. I hear tell she’s from St. Peters, and she ain’t had it easy. Something about her arm, they say it ain’t like most folks’ arms. But that don’t stop her, no sirree. She’s a patient over at Shriners Hospitals for Children in St. Louis, and them folks over there, they’re somethin’ special.
Now, I seen some commercials on the TV, and there’s this Hadley girl with another young fella, calls him “King Kaleb.” They’re always smilin’ and goofin’ around. Seems like they’re good buddies, which is nice to see. It warms an old lady’s heart, you know?
I also heard tell that Hadley, she got adopted. Yep, some kind folks took her in, loved her like their own. That’s how it should be, I reckon. Every child deserves a good home and folks who care.
- Hadley’s got goals, big ones too.
- She’s workin’ hard to walk all by herself.
- That takes grit, let me tell ya. A whole lot of grit.
And wouldn’t ya know it, this poor girl, she went and broke her leg bone, the femur they call it. Just a few weeks back, I saw on that there… what do you call it? Insta-somethin’? Yeah, that’s it. Hadley’s folks posted about it. Back at Shriners for a checkup, they said. Poor thing. But I bet she’s handlin’ it like a champ. She’s tough, that Hadley.
Shriners Hospitals, now they’re a blessin’. They take care of kids, kids with all sorts of problems. Kids that other hospitals might not be able to help. And they do it outta the goodness of their hearts, seems like. Ain’t that somethin’? Makes ya think there’s still some good in this world.
This Hadley girl, she’s an inspiration, I tell ya. She don’t let nothin’ hold her back. She’s got that spirit, that fire in her belly. And she’s got them Shriners folks in her corner, helpin’ her every step of the way. It’s a beautiful thing, it really is. Makes you proud to be, well, just proud to be human, I guess. Seein’ folks helpin’ folks, that’s what it’s all about.
I ain’t got much education, but I know a good thing when I see it. And Hadley Wilson and them Shriners, they’re good people doin’ good work. That’s all there is to it. Plain and simple. So next time ya see somethin’ about Shriners on TV, or hear someone talkin’ ‘bout ‘em, remember Hadley and all them other kids they helpin’. Remember that there’s good folks out there makin’ a difference. And that’s the honest to God truth.
I hope that Hadley girl gets better soon. And I hope them Shriners keep doin’ what they’re doin’. The world needs more folks like them, that’s for sure. Goodness knows, we surely do.
So that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. Hadley Wilson, Shriners Hospitals, and a whole lotta heart. What more is there to say? Nothin’, I reckon. Nothin’ at all.
