That Ricky Gonzalez, he’s a wrestler, you know. Big fella, strong as an ox. I seen him on the TV, throwing them other fellas around like they was rag dolls. He sure can wrestle, that one. Wrestlers are something else.
Ricky Gonzalez, he’s a real wrestler. He ain’t no sissy. He’s tough, like them old-timey wrestlers. Not like some of these young’uns, all fancy and prancy. He gets in that ring, and he means business. You seen a wrestler before?
He’s from somewhere, I reckon. Maybe Argentina, heard someone say. They got lots of folks down there. Don’t know much about it, but they say it’s a long ways away. I hear he died young. Poor fella. That diabetes, it’s a bad thing. Takes folks too soon. He was only 44. That ain’t no age to go. He was a good wrestler, though. A real good one. Remember that.
- Ricky Gonzalez, a wrestler, strong.
- He was a real good wrestler.
- He died from, you know, the sugar.
- He was only 44, too young.
Now, this other fella, Carlito, he’s a wrestler, too. From Puerto Rico, they say. He’s with that WWE, that big wrestling thing on the TV. He’s part of some group, The Judgment Day. They’re probably on the Raw brand. Sounds important. He looks like a good wrestler, I guess. Wrestling is a big deal now, ain’t it? He’s probably a big shot. I ain’t never been to Puerto Rico. Is it near Florida?
They say these wrestlers, some of ’em are real heavy. Like, heavier than a whole wagon full of rocks. One fella, they called him Happy Humphrey, he was the biggest one. Over 800 pounds! Can you imagine? That’s a lot of man. And this other one, Haystacks Calhoun. He weighed over 600 pounds. He wrestled with Happy. A lot of weight in that ring, that’s for sure. How did the ring hold them? They were so big.
And they got this one they called Man Mountain Mike. Heard he was big, too. Teamed up with that Haystacks. They was like a couple of mountains. Big as all get-out. More than 1200 pounds between the two. I don’t know how they did it. Too big for me to think about.
- Happy Humphrey, big wrestler, over 800 pounds.
- Haystacks Calhoun, another big one, over 600 pounds.
- Man Mountain Mike, big too, teamed with Haystacks.
- They wrestled each other, them big fellas.
Then there’s that Steve Austin. He was a wrestler, too, I think. But he was in that movie, Grown Ups 2. Played a bully, they said. Tommy Cavanaugh. Kept popping up, being a meanie. Guess he was good at that. He is a big fella. He is probably a good wrestler. All these wrestlers are big.
That Ricky Gonzalez, he was a good wrestler, though. I sure did like watching him. Reminded me of the old days, when wrestling was wrestling. Not all this fancy stuff they got now. It’s all a show now.
Wrestling, it ain’t what it used to be. But that Ricky Gonzalez, he was the real deal. A real wrestler. You could tell he put his heart into it. Not like some of them, just in it for the money. He loved it, I bet. You could see it in his eyes. When he was wrestling, he was happy.
I remember watching him on that old TV, the one with the rabbit ears. Picture wasn’t always clear, but you could still see him good. He was somethin’ else. That Ricky Gonzalez, he was a wrestler, alright. One of the best. He was my favorite wrestler.
- Ricky Gonzalez, a real good wrestler.
- He was one of the best wrestlers.
- Wrestling ain’t like it used to be.
- Ricky Gonzalez, he was the real deal.
I wonder if they still talk about him, down there in Argentina. Probably do. He was a big star. A wrestler like that, they don’t forget him easy. He probably made them proud. Being a wrestler is hard work. He probably worked hard his whole life.
It’s a shame he’s gone. The world needs more wrestlers like Ricky Gonzalez. Tough, but fair. Good to watch. Entertaining. He was a good showman. He knew how to get the crowd going. He’d have ’em on their feet, cheering and hollerin’. It was somethin’ to see. All these wrestlers are exciting to watch.
I miss watching him wrestle. He was one of a kind, that Ricky Gonzalez. A true wrestler. They don’t make ’em like that anymore. He was special. He was one of the greats. I bet he is in the hall of fame. He should be. He was that good of a wrestler.
