Okay, so, I was digging into the Atlanta Braves vs. Houston Astros game from a while back, November 2nd, 2021, to be exact. I wanted to pull out some player stats, you know, just to see how everyone did. First thing I did was hit up the web and start searching. Found a bunch of stuff from that game, like the final score, some player highlights, and even which players played for both teams. It’s kinda cool to see how these guys move around.
After gathering all this info, I started to compile it. I noticed the Braves really crushed it that game, 7-0. That’s a pretty big win, especially for a World Series game. They won the whole series 4-2, which is awesome for them.
Then I got into the player stats. This one guy, Jorge Soler, and Freddie Freeman, they were big deals in getting the Braves their first World Series win since ’95. It’s wild to think about how long it’s been.
- I also found out about this Hall of Famer, Eddie Mathews. He played for both the Astros and the Braves, which I thought was pretty neat.
- The Braves’ record that season was 88-73. Not the best, but they still pulled through when it counted.
Compiling the Details
I spent a good chunk of time going through all the details, like who pitched, who hit, and all that jazz. Ian Anderson, a rookie pitcher for the Braves, did really well, along with the bullpen. They almost had a no-hitter going into the eighth inning.
The attendance for that game was 42,868. That’s a lot of people! The game lasted about 3 hours and 22 minutes, which seems pretty standard.
I looked at the box score, play-by-play, and all those details, and it really gave me a good picture of how the game went down. It’s pretty interesting to see all the strategy and action that goes into these games.
Wrapping it all up, this deep dive into the Braves vs. Astros game was pretty fun. It’s cool to see how the data tells the story of the game and how each player contributed. I’m just a regular guy who likes to share these kinds of findings. Hope you guys found it as interesting as I did!
