Alright, so I came across this crossword clue the other day, “wood source.” It got me thinking, and I decided to give it a shot. I’ve been into these crossword puzzles lately, especially the ones from the New York Times. They’re a fun way to kill time and keep the brain ticking.
I started by looking at the clue again: “wood source.” It seemed simple enough. I mean, where does wood come from? But then I realized it could be a bit tricky. Crosswords often have these double meanings or wordplay that you need to figure out.
I grabbed my phone and started searching online. I found that this clue had popped up in a few different crosswords recently, like the one from March 31st and another from December 22nd. I guess it’s a popular one.
Then I found a bunch of sites that listed possible answers. There were like 40 of them! I started looking through the list, trying to see which one made the most sense. There were some obvious ones, but some were pretty out there.
- TREE – This was the most obvious one.
- LOG – This is another kind of answer for this clue.
- ELM – This one made sense too, since elms are trees.
- OAK – Okay, another type of tree.
I decided to try “TREE” first. It’s short, sweet, and the most logical answer. And guess what? It fit! Four letters, and it matched up with the other words I had already filled in.
I was pretty pumped that I got it. It’s such a satisfying feeling when you finally crack a clue, especially when it seems obvious in hindsight. I went on to finish the rest of the puzzle, but that “wood source” clue was definitely a highlight. This crossword puzzle is so interesting, especially when I solved this clue, I felt so happy.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure with the “wood source” crossword clue. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it was a fun little mental exercise. Maybe I will try this puzzle again tomorrow!
