Okay, so today I tried to do something I saw on the internet, it’s called “prisoner in lower pagoda wukong”. Sounded kinda cool, and I was bored, so I thought, why not?

First, I had to, you know, find a pagoda. Not a real one, of course! I’m not gonna go vandalizing some historical site. I mean’t in a game, obviously, which game has a pagoda?. Luckily I have played many games and quickly found some fit requirements, although I can not name their names.
I loaded up the game and went straight to the pagoda area. It was this big, multi-level thing, all red and gold, pretty impressive. I spent some time just figuring out the layout, you know, where the stairs were, what each level looked like. I even took some screenshots, just for fun.
My Implementation Steps
- Find the “Lower Pagoda”: After explore it, the pagoda had like, five levels, and I decided the “lower pagoda” was gonna be the bottom two. Simple enough.
- Get Wukong In: Okay, so there I used Wukong, the Monkey King guy. Get him into the pagoda. Easy.
- The “Prisoner” Part:This was the tricky bit. I figured, “prisoner” means trapped, right? So I tried to find a way to get Wukong stuck on the lower levels. I experimented with jumping off ledges, trying to get him wedged between objects, all that stuff.
- No Easy Way Out:The whole point was to make it hard for him to get to the upper levels. I tried blocking the stairs with other characters, but that didn’t really work. They just kinda pushed him out of the way.
After a lot of trial and error, and I mean A LOT, I finally figured something out. There was this one spot on the second level, near a railing, where if you jumped just right, Wukong would get kinda stuck in the geometry. He could still move around, but he couldn’t jump high enough to reach the stairs to the third level.
It wasn’t perfect, but it was close enough. He was basically trapped on the lower two levels, a “prisoner” in the lower pagoda! I took a bunch more screenshots, and even recorded a short video of him trying to escape. Felt pretty good about myself, to be honest.
So, yeah, that was my day. Spent a few hours trying to trap a video game character in a virtual pagoda. Sounds silly when I say it out loud, but it was actually pretty fun. Might try something like this again tomorrow, who knows!
