Okay, so, today I wanted to mess around with some old footage of Aaron Rodgers. You know, see how the dude looked when he was just a young buck playing college ball. I’ve always been a huge fan, and it’s kinda cool to go back and see the early days of these superstars.
First thing I did was to hit up some of the usual spots online where you can find old sports clips. It took a bit of digging, I’m not gonna lie. This was like pre-YouTube era stuff, so it wasn’t exactly all over the place.
After a while, I finally stumbled upon a few decent quality videos of him playing for the Cal Golden Bears. Man, it’s weird seeing him in that blue and gold instead of the Packers green.
I downloaded a couple of these videos. I wanted to be able to watch them offline, and also, you never know when this stuff might disappear from the internet. Better safe than sorry, right?
Then, I started watching. It was so cool to see a younger, less polished Rodgers. You could see the raw talent, the arm strength, that was definitely already there. But he also looked a little… I don’t know… less experienced. Which makes sense, obviously.
Here’s what I noticed:
- His throwing motion was a little different. It seemed like he had a slightly longer wind-up back then.
- He wasn’t as quick to make decisions as he is now. He held onto the ball a little longer sometimes. Again, totaly understandable given where he was in his development.
- He was definitely mobile, but he wasn’t using his legs to make plays as much as he does now.
I spent a good chunk of the afternoon just watching these old games. I even pulled up some of his newer highlights to compare. It’s amazing how much a player can evolve over their career.
It was a fun little trip down memory lane. Plus it really made me appreciate how far Aaron Rodgers has come. From a promising college QB to a four-time NFL MVP, it’s been one heck of a journey.
It’s like a history lesson, but way more fun!
This whole thing really got me thinking. Maybe I should do this with other players too. It would be awesome to see how other greats developed over time. It’s like a history lesson, but way more fun! Anyway, that’s my little adventure for the day. Hope you guys enjoyed hearing about it. Let me know what you think in the comments. Peace out!
